Dyckamn Basketball Championship
August 22, 2006
Dominican Power was able to pull off the victory over previously unbeaten Dynasty to become 2006 Dyckman Basketball Champions, cheered on by a frenzied crowd in Washington Heights late Tuesday night. Francisco Garcia, Luis “Mr. Untouchable” Flores, John “Franchise” Strickland, and of course Kareem”Big Game” Reid led the way for Domnican Power over Kenny Satterfield and Team Dynasty, with Keydran “Wet Those” Clark missing the game due to being overseas. The game went down to the wire, with the overwhelmingly pro Dominican Power crowd often stopping play by overflowing on to the court. Down by 1, with just seconds to go in the game, Dynasty stole the ball with a chance to take the lead, but couldn’t get through the huge crowed on the other end of the court to get to their basket. Francisco Garcia eventually came up with a big block when the crowd finally dispersed as action headed towards them.
