In practically a unanimous vote, Kenny “Serious Satellite” Satterfield was named the 2006 HITS Regular Season MVP this Sunday, August 20th, during the championship game. Scoring had alot to do with it, but it was his other stats that made the vote even more clear to everyone.

Just when you thought it was safe with records in the valley of the sun, a week after fellow teammate Andre Barret broke the HITS scoring record with 57 points, Kenny “Serious Satellite” Satterfield had something more in mind. Even though it came in an losing effort, Satterfield put up a brand new HITS scoring output of 62 points on August 6th against the defending champs, Powerful Inc.

In a season where records were made to be broken at Hoops In The Sun, Satterfield was a one man wrecking crew that could not be stopped. With outburts of 34, 32, 47, 38, 62 and 59 points in 6 games, he managed to average the highest scoring average ever at Hoops In The Sun with 45.3 ppg. He now owns the #1 and 2 spots on most points scored in one game list (62 and 59).

If that wasn’t enough, on August 12th, he broke Will “Silence Of The Lambs” Cadiz’s record for most points scored by a player in a season with 272. Cadiz’s record was 228, which was set last season. Satterfield also averaged 9 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game.

Sidenote: Charles Bostic, aka “The Matrix”, of Enterprise was named the 2006 HITS Rookie Of the Year on Sunday, August 13th.

Bostic’s 2006 statistics were 25 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals per game. With his outstanding play as a rookie, he earned himself a spot on the All Hoops In The Sun First Team, alongside Kenny “Serious Satellite” Satterfield from PR Pride, Adris “Too Hard To Guard” DeLeon from Young Ones, Darren “Primal Fear” Phillip from Pops 5 and Mick “Miles High” Miles from X-Men.
